1. Your
snot freezes. Not like on Ice Age in snot-sickles, but inside your nose
when you breathe in. That's real. Actually happens.
2.
You're not worried about your milk spoiling if you leave it in the car,
you're worried about it freezing.
3. You
start to be able to tell the temperature by what body parts have lost
feeling.
4. You
decide what kind of day it is by how many layers you have on.
5. When
you cut yourself shaving, you just stick your face out the window to clot
the blood.
6.
People start seeing one set of footprints because your 5'6 companion walks
behind you at all times.
7. The
one thing you want for Christmas is wool socks and you almost cry when
they don't show up.
8.
Questions like, "What's the weather like?" Are answered
with comparisons with other days that week, not actual weather reports.
9.
You've been driving for 15 minutes and can still see your breath inside
the car.
10. You
put on gloves to start driving because the wheel is frozen.
11. You
can judge how long you've been tracting by how many toes have lost
feeling.
12.
People aren't concerned about cold until it is below zero WITHOUT wind
chill.
13. 6
inches of snow is child's play.
14.
When you borrow two snow shovels from a ward member, they tell you to keep
them because they have four others.
15.
You've perfected the penguin walk.
16.
People put on gloves to open the door and shake your hand.
17. If
your hair is wet when you go outside in the morning, it will still be wet
when you get home 16 hours later.
18. And
last, but certainly not least, you go get in the car on Monday and
the high is predicted at -11 degrees F, and it never reaches that warm. No
kidding folks, it's chilly around here. And those numbers are before wind
chill and humidity factors into things. Yesterday after those factors, it
was about -45 degrees F all day. Yep. That happened.
Unfortunately
with the cold things have been kind of slow around here as far as work
goes, so there isn't much to report on this week. I am safe, and warm, and
happy. The Gospel is still true no matter how cold it is, or what forces fight
against it. Keep warm, keep safe, and KEEP SMILING!!!!!!! (Yes, I'm
looking at you Cat. ;) )
I love
you.
The
Lord loves you.
The
Gospel is true.

Logan Dee Gifford
P.S.- I
have more pictures, but my camera is being weird. For now, take this. :)
(and yes, that's 11 in the morning)
